Dream-Work Resources

(This page is currently under development, please e-mail any dream related questions)

We all dream during sleep, so before you go to sleep, set your intention to recall your dream upon waking, and have a notepad and pen by your bedside to jot down your dream, thoughts and feelings upon waking.

Dreams are our Souls way of communicating with us, they can contain many layers, and are rich in metaphor and symbology, so don't be too hasty in interpreting your dreams.

A simple way that I have found useful in working with dreams is to create a Dream Map.

CREATING A DREAM MAP

On a plain sheet of paper, record the main characters, feelings and events of the dream using keywords.  You may then identify patterns that connect your dream to your past, present and to possible future resolution.

Each character, symbol, event, or feeling within the dream can be treated as part of you. e.g, If you have an angry character within your dream, look to see where you are angry in life.  Viewed in this way, dreams can be a useful tool for personal growth, showing us unconscious conflicts within our life that may be resolved.  Everything is energy and energy never dies, when we take responsibility for our shadow, (unconscious material) we find less need to attract external mirroring in our lives.
